Important Christmas update

As the Christmas season is now full swing, and everyone gears up for the end of the year, we have some important updates to share.

With the recent change in ownership of Greenhithe Medical Centre, and Dr Nick Gailer taking more time to spend with his family, you may notice some reduced availability for appointments and increased turn around for prescription repeats. We are doing everything we can to reduce the impact on you, our patients. If you need an appointment, please contact reception directly on (09) 413 8562.

To ensure you get the medication you need, when you need it, please be sure to check your medications and let us know as soon as possible (before 12pm Thursday 21 December). If you are requiring any repeat prescriptions, please do so via your MyIndici account. Anything submitted after this date will not be processed until we return in the new year.

If you are paying your account via Internet banking, please check your latest invoice for updated banking details, as these have changed recently with the sale of the practice. If you are unsure, please check in with reception.

We are delighted to have Dr Paul Johns join our team, with appointments available each Thursday. Dr Paul also works at Health New Lynn and does some work on Great Barrier Island. He has had a varied career, including eight years in Emergency Medicine before becoming a GP. He has been the doctor for a number of rugby and netball teams and the New Zealand Team Doctor at four Special Olympic World Games. You can read more about Dr Paul Johns here.

To help with appointment availability over the holiday season, we have something called UnifyHealth available to all our patients. The UnifyHealth programme allows patients to continue to see a GP while we are unavailable or closed, with the same continuity of care. Simply go to www.unifyhealth.co.nz, click ‘Book Appointment', enter your details and follow the prompts.

Please note that we will be closing over the Christmas period, from 3pm on Friday 22 December, opening again at 8am on Monday 8 January. During this time, please be sure to utilise the UnifyHealth option above, or call our main line to go through to our afterhours service.

Merry Christmas and we will see you in 2024!
